It is a sensitive issue and one that must be approached at just the right angle so as not to offend or create a "them" and "us" situation. The few times we have written about anything negative or remotely sensitive, we have gotten into some hot water over it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29269999.post-60975504570182572282007-10-24T21:20:00.000-06:002007-10-24T21:20:00.000-06:00watched it in my hotel room, though ours is a dry ...watched it in my hotel room, though ours is a dry town, there are some odd drinking cases. not really much of an issue like gambling and drugs. we used to live in front of a guy who was a "drug dealer", it was scary.

i thought it was a great show though the shameful part is how the kids are educating the parents. but i think the kids there are perhaps a little more responsible than the kids down here, or maybe its just tv.

i dont understand though when they had the hamlet banned alcohol for a month, everything was better until they resume operation. apparently the ppl are not happy with it but they did however "lived" without alcohol for a month. i wonder if the hamlet or RCMP has much power in the north at all?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29269999.post-63475322739420474572007-10-23T20:21:00.000-06:002007-10-23T20:21:00.000-06:00I had a chance to see the CBC story last night and...I had a chance to see the CBC story last night and was very pleased to hear of the positive result. I think it would be nice to see something better set up. What makes me mad is when our foodmail is left in Yellowknife and booze is brought up instead.Matt, Kara, Hunter and Cavanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06324456976588255233noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29269999.post-17795649212675685292007-10-23T15:58:00.000-06:002007-10-23T15:58:00.000-06:00No cable so I missed the show, but I caught some h...No cable so I missed the show, but I caught some highlights online.
We celebrated in our office this morning for you guys when we got the release about the plebiscite!
There are bootleggers here too, even with the bars and easy permits.
I always think what is needed is better cooperation from the airlines, to stop people from bringing in 40s of booze in their carry-ons. I understand it's a charter of rights issue, that they can't really search people, but too bad they can't implement something a bit different, given the seriousness of the impact. Obviously my totally unqualified opinion!Kate Novahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02922631587427699587noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29269999.post-72610900764219219422007-10-23T15:28:00.000-06:002007-10-23T15:28:00.000-06:00That will be the problem. Though, to be honest, I'm not sure how "controlled" it is because all you need is a vehicle or 20.00 to take the bus and you get get into yellowknife and buy what you want. I sat up last night and watched the special. How corny am I. We were both dropping from exhaustion and I had the DVR set up to tape it, but I wanted to watch it live like everyone else, not recorded this morning. It was cool to think that when we were watching it, others like you guys were watching the same thing at the same time.Rob, Tina and the boyshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08840954020421165800noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29269999.post-73036966650545075072007-10-23T08:46:00.000-06:002007-10-23T08:46:00.000-06:00Oh they veins aren't budding- they are bulging!
