The tummy is growing!

Well for those of you pestering me to see how big my tummy really has gotten, here you go! Now before I got pregnant, it was the boobs that were bigger, but now the tummy is really sticking out. I went to the health centre yesterday to weigh myself after being sick for those few days. Well I have lost just over 2 more pounds! So I am now 5 pounds less than what I was at my first prenatal appointment in December. These pictures are from first thing this morning.

Now I know that there is a shadow in the way, but do you see my nice foot wear in the picture below? My kamiks are all finished and I have been wearing them. I love walking with them in the snow. I have always been a big fan of barefoot as often as possible, and it feels like you are walking barefoot in the snow- but warmer! I have had lots of compliments on them. And check out that beautiful carving on the wall behind me. It is one of our favorites and it is carved out of moose.

Hey Kara, you look fabulous!! I can't believe your hair is so short!! I got my hair chopped last New Years, and it's just finally getting long enough to tuck behind hy ears!! I can hardly wait to have it long again!!My tummy is starting to pop a little bit. At least it looks like I'm pregnant now!! If I ever stop fighting with my computer at home I'll have to send you a belly pic. I've been trying to take one for every month so that I could document in a scrapbook, but so far have only got one at 3mths. Anyway, I did reply to your last email so don't think I'm ignoring you!! Talk soon!!

hi! i was wondering if you knew what the rate of pay is for teachers with a degree in education.....as well as the northern allowance rate where you are. I am also owndering how easy it is for you to go south if you wanted to stock up on items, and how much a skidoo costs, a atv costs, and how much it costs to ship food up....is it shipped up? is there a canadapost out there than someone could send a care package too? Thank you!

Hi Matt & Kara

I've been checking your blog regularly since applying for a job with the government of Nunavut in Kugluktuk. I've been trying to gain as much information about the community as possible. I've found that there isn't a great amount of info available on the net (or I'm not looking in the right spot) Your site has been great! I would really appreciate the opportunity to talk / email / message with someone living there before relocating.

Could you drop me a line at robjcksn@hotmail.com ? I have a million questions if your up to the task.

Thanks
Robert J.

Hey Kara,
While those kamiks may be comfortable, do they come in flip-flops to deal with the harsh desert winters we have here?
